We often spend so much time looking at ourselves head-on in the mirror that we forget we live our lives in profile. In my practice, some of the most transformative results come from what I call “Profile Balancing.” This is the art of ensuring that the proportions of the nose, lips, and chin work in harmony with one another. When these features are in balance, the entire face looks more refined and youthful.

Many patients come to me requesting lip fillers because they feel their lips are “too small.” However, upon a medical assessment of their profile, I might notice that their chin is slightly recessed. If we only add volume to the lips without addressing the chin, it can actually make the lips look protruded or “duck-like.” By adding a small amount of structural filler to the chin, we can create a much more balanced and elegant side profile, which in turn makes the lips look perfectly in proportion.

In a doctor-led clinic, safety is the priority. I use a meticulous “slow and steady” approach to contouring the nose and chin, often using a cannula to minimise bruising and maximise safety. The result is a profile that looks completely natural but significantly more balanced. It is about “tweakments”—tiny adjustments that yield a massive boost in confidence.
